Cliff

Your First Server

Create or import your first Minecraft server with Cliff.

Once you've installed Cliff and created your admin account, you're ready to set up your first server. You have two options: create a new server from scratch, or import an existing one.

Starting your server

Select your server in the sidebar, then click Start in the server header (above the active panel). The first time you start a server, you'll be prompted to accept the Minecraft EULA. Once accepted, the server boots up and the console begins streaming logs in real time.

Only one server can run at a time per Cliff instance. Starting a new server will prompt you to stop the currently running one.

Connecting to your server

Once your server is running, connect with the Minecraft Java client using:

  • Local: localhost (or localhost:<port> if you changed the default port)
  • LAN: Your machine's local IP, e.g. 192.168.1.100:25565
  • Remote: See the Public Access guide for sharing your server outside your network without port forwarding.
